The Openning Ceremony of EU Grant Project Implemented by Tirebolu Municipality is realised on 5 February 2024

Under the auspices of Town Twinning Between Turkey and the EU – II For a Green Future Grant Programme; Tirebolu Municiplity started implementing the “Strong Combat Against Floods, Heavy Rain and Drought Project“ on 1 November 2023.

The Opening Meeting of the Flood and Drought Combat Project was held on 5 February 2024, with the participation of relevant stakeholders. The 12-month project implemented under the leadership of Tirebolu Municipality, in partnership with Women of the Sea Sustainable Development and Solidarity Association (Turkey), Eprojectconsult – Istituto Europeo di Formazione e Ricerca (Italy), Comune di Geraci Siculo (Italy) and Rēzeknes Valstspilsētas Dome (Latvia). Tirebolu, Rezekne and Geraci Siculo Municipalities will be improving climate and environment-based actions The project also aims to create sustainable structures between the Municipalities of Tirebolu, Rezekne and Geraci Siculo for a stronger fight against floods, heavy rain and drought, especially through water harvesting (grey water, rainwater collection).
