The Purpose of the Project
The overall objective of the project is to establish long-term/sustainable relationships between Karaisali Municipality, Pozantı Municipality and Rafina-Pikermi Municipality for the exchange of experiences and good practices on climate change adaptation and environmental protection through town-twinning.
Main Activities
- Creation of a project website and a digital experience platform
- Collection of good practices in Europe
- Conducting Study Visits
- Conducting research on the fragility of forest towns
- Preparation of a municipal intervention plan to facilitate the adaptation of citizens
- Preparation of a strategy document for inter-municipal preparedness and response
- Preparation of a policy document for municipal policy actions
- Providing training to municipal staff
- Organizing seminars for young people
- Networking studies
- Social media campaigns
Expected Outputs
– The capacities of municipalities on adaptation to climate change in the context of forest protection, forest fire preparedness and response increased.
– An action plan for forest protection and forest fire preparedness and response, a strategy document for inter-municipal preparedness and response, and a policy document for municipalities to take action on this issue were developed.
– The awareness of local young people from sensitive neighborhoods in Pozantı and Karaisalı was increased.
