The Purpose of the Project
The aim of the project is sustainable cooperation between Manisa and Pineto local administrations in Italy to promote and transfer environment-based practices, development of methods to combat climate change, improving the public-NGO cooperation, creation of monitoring systems with digital tools in Manisa – Pineto and Volos.
Main Activities
- International Workshop
- Development of Carbon Emission Tracking System Software
- Development and implementation of the public-NGO cooperation model
- Development of virtual reality applications according to feedback received from elementary schools
- Creation of a web portal
- Study visit to Pineto Municipality, evaluation of project implementations, and signing of the protocol
- Transfer of good examples with the Town Twinning method
- Vulnerability analyses, climate impact plans, development of local climate action reports
- Organization of the Climate Festival
- Dissemination studies
Expected Outputs
– Environment-based applications (Carbon Emission Monitoring System and Virtual Reality Application for Primary School Children) were developed.
– Efforts were made to develop the cooperation between the public and NGOs on climate.
– The “Town Twinning Protocol for Enhancing Efforts in the Field of Climate” was signed between Pinato and Manisa.
– Especially children’s awareness about climate change and its effects was increased.
